TB TESTING (Coming Soon)
At 1st Step Healthcare Training we don’t just provide training, coming soon we will also provide testing. Working in healthcare puts healthcare workers at risk for contracting tuberculosis (TB). TB is a potentially serious infectious bacterial disease that mainly affects the lungs. However, working in healthcare isn’t the only place to contract the bacteria. TB is everywhere in the world and can be spread by airborne droplets, such as someone sneezing, coughing, singing or even talking. If you’re a healthcare worker or you’ve been in tight common spaces, such as jail/prison, nursing home, shelter, drug treatment center or other healthcare facilities you are considered high risk for latent TB. Latent TB is when you’ve exposed to the bacteria but don’t present with symptoms.
Rest assured because we will be offering testing. Testing is quick, less than a minute and we read the result within 48-72 hrs.
Coming soon, we will provide TB testing that is required for employment and/or school as well. Coming soon, we will offer the Mantoux tuberculin skin test (TST) using purified protein derivative (PPD).
