  • A certified nursing assistant (CNA) is an entry-level personnel that provides vital support to both patients and nurses. From transporting, bathing and feeding patients, to stocking medical supplies and logging vital patient information. CNA’s are the backbone of nurses helping to enhance patient care.

CNA’s are normally employed in Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF), also known as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, rehabs, home health care, adult day care centers, private practice clinics, etc.

The coolest part is YOU can work in any specialty you desire such as emergency room, pediatrics, oncology, cardiac, you name it. 

Plus, CNA’s can travel. YES, CNA’s can travel to different states and receive top pay, in addition to experience.

To be accepted into 1st Step Healthcare Training program one must possess great energy. We’re looking for compassionate, empathetic individuals to join our FAMILY. You’re more than just a STUDENT once you step foot through our doors. A high school diploma or GED is NOT REQUIRED by the state of Michigan to become a CNA. The minimum age requirement for 1st Step Healthcare Training is 17 years old by the start date of class.

Courses range from 2 weeks for day time classes and 3 weeks for evening classes. A minimum of 75 hours must be completed to successfully graduate the program.

Applying for the program is simple. Just fill out the application under the Admission tab and someone will reach out to you. Once you are approved to start the program then payment will be due. For pricing and payment plan please visit the Services tab and pick the CNA Training option.

After successful completion of the program you are now eligible to go and take your certification exam through Headmaster, this is a REQUIRED process in order to receive certification and be recognized as a CNA in Michigan. In addition to successfully passing your certification exam with Headmaster, you are also REQUIRED to register with MI-NATES. MI-NATES is where you will receive your certificate after passing your certification exam.
